Chapter 5142already been raised before the CoP began. Mean scores on the subscale Attitude of the questionnaire Awareness for considering clients%u2019 perspectives on involuntary care were also relatively high at TP-0, suggesting that there was already awareness of clients%u2019 perspectives on involuntary care. Another limitation was that, before starting the CoP, a deliberate decision was made by the researchers that the three overarching implementation interventions for all organisations participating in the CoP should be similar. The rationale behind this approach was to facilitate discussions on content and ideas, enhancing mutual learning among participants, while still having the flexibility to tailor interventions to the specific needs of their organisations. However, this approach had its drawbacks, as organisations were not entirely free to independently choose for the most suitable intervention at the right moment. Nevertheless, implementers often employed more than one activity within a single implementation intervention and deliberately chose to execute different interventions. ConclusionDespite the absence of statistically significant differences in care staff outcomes regarding level of implementation and awareness in considering clients%u2019 perspectives on involuntary care, collaborating in the Community of Practice to plan and tailor implementation for the e-tool NAF was evaluated as successful by the implementers. The ItFits-toolkit work routine appeared to hold promise for effectively designing implementation plans in intellectual disability care. However, carefully tailored implementation plans are no guarantee for improving quality of care of clients with intellectual disabilities concerning involuntary care, because during implementation processes many barriers may hinder the uptake of innovations. In implementation research, a multi-methods design evaluating both outcomes and processes can be beneficial. The combination of both quantitative and qualitative results facilitated a nuanced understanding of where improvements could be made to enhance the effectiveness of a CoP in implementation efforts.
