Community of Practice as implementation strategy1315construction followed research on awareness in Alzheimer care (Clare et al., 2011; Hertogh, 2015). The questionnaire was collaboratively developed with researchers, co-researchers with intellectual disabilities, care staff, and consultants knowledgeable about the CCA. Items were rated on a 5-point Likert-scale, with 1= completely disagree and 5= completely agree. Internal consistency was deemed acceptable for the total score (Cronbach%u2019s alpha .69), and ranged from unacceptable to acceptable for the three subscales (Knowledge .14;, Attitude .60, and Behaviour .46). Therefore, only the subscale Attitude was included for analysis. An example item includes %u2018If a client does not clearly resist (non)verbally, nothing needs to be changed%u2019.Quantitative data analysesOnly 36.2% of care staff filled out questionnaires on more than one occasion (Figure 3: Flow Diagram). Given the challenging circumstances of the COVID-19 pandemic, reminders to staff to increase response were kept at a minimum. In the experimental condition 37 and in the control condition 17 care staff filled out the questionnaires at least twice and were included in analyses of change. TP-0 (TimePoint-0) indicates the first time they filled out the questionnaires (which could be at T1, T2, T3, or T4). TP-1 indicates the last time (which could be at T2, T3, T4, or T5). All included participants in the experimental condition were exposed to an implementation intervention for NAF at least once, as interventions were executed between measurements. Using SPSS 28.0, we conducted a mixed-design ANOVA, commonly referred to as a two-way ANOVA with one repeated measure, two time points (TP-0 and TP-1) and experimental and control groups. We tested the betweensubjects factor (group factor) and the within-subjects factor (time factor) on the dependent variables (such as the questionnaires employed). We tested the between x within effect at a significance level of p = .05, and Cohen%u2019s d was employed as the effect size measure. Qualitative data analysisAll meetings of the CoP were video recorded in Microsoft Teams and transcribed verbatim. Transcripts were uploaded in ATLAS.ti Windows (Version 23.2.3.27778). The first author conducted a deductive qualitative analysis, including the framework of the ItFits toolkit. This approach was
