expand the fiber spacing up to an extent that allows for cell infiltration throughout the entire sca old. Inherently with this increase in porosity, mechanical properties of these sca olds shi towards values of native so tissues.
A good example of these electrospinning techniques applied, are the sca olds used within the in-situ tissue engineering heart valve study. In
this study, we could prove for the first time feasibility of in-situ heart valve tissue engineering with an electrospun synthetic polymer.
In summary, this thesis describes generic electrospinning techniques to facilitate and improve future in-vitro and in-vivo electrospun products for the regenerative medicine field.
