General discussion1857The qualitative part of the multi-method study described in Chapter 5 underscored this conclusion. In this study, the Community of Practice (CoP) as an implementation strategy for the e-tool Needs Assessment Framework was evaluated. The work structure within this CoP was based on the ItFits-toolkit, developed to support implementation practitioners in designing tailored implementation interventions (B%u00fchrmann et al., 2020; Vis et al., 2023). Participants in this CoP evaluated working together positively to exchange knowledge, experiences and ideas for designing implementation plans. Moreover, the ItFits-toolkit was appreciated for providing a structured workflow that led to implementation plans with interventions tailored to each organisational context. The recommendations for specifying implementation interventions (Proctor et al., 2013) used in Module 3 of the ItFits-toolkit were seen as particularly helpful. These recommendations guided participants in specifying what to do, how, why, where, for whom and by whom, ensuring that the implementation interventions were welldefined and context specific.Implementing methods to reduce involuntary care in multiple care organisations (Chapters 5 and 6)Implementation efforts by care organisations are often aimed to increase the use of evidence-based innovations benefiting both clients and care staff (May et al., 2007). Two sorts of efforts that care organisations perform were studied in this dissertation. The first effort included tailoring implementation plans to specific organisational contexts. The second effort involved adapting an innovation, in this case the MDET-method, to fit organisational work structures and needs. Previous studies suggested that adapting innovations might increase the fit of innovations, which may be helpful for implementation (Chambers & Norton, 2016).Regarding the first effort, the quasi-experimental study described in Chapter 5 examined the impact of participation in a CoP on the implementation process of the Needs Assessment Framework (NAF). Progress in implementation was tested within and between care teams providing care to people with intellectual disabilities, compared to conventional implementation without a CoP, referred to as implementation-as-usual (IAU). Furthermore, the indirect effect on increased awareness of care staff of considering clients%u2019
