also like to thank Arie Werner for helping in SEM analysis. Thank you Arie for your help and valuable inputs during the SEM sessions.
To my lovely roomies at ACTA: Ivana, Cindy, and Silvia. I had so much fun with you, like the times when Cindy was trying to teach us Dutch, or the times when one of us was not in, and the rest of us would take selfies with sad faces and send it to the absent one. Our trip to Efteling amusement park was an unforgettable experience that I will always remember as one of my happiest times in the Netherlands. I love you girls! To all the OCB colleagues: Carolyn, Tijmen, Jianfeng, Beatrix, thank you for all the nice moments.
To my colleague at VUmc: Dafydd. Dear Dafydd, thank you for teaching me how to work with the 3D-printer and always being available when I faced a problem with it. I had so much fun working with you!
To my Iranian friends at ACTA: Rozita and Haniyeh. Rozita, you are one of a kind. I always admired your ambitious and enthusiastic attitude. My life in Amsterdam would have been less fun without you. I enjoyed the times when we went out for a coffee and chatted about everything. You were very easy to talk to and even though I just met you in Amsterdam, I felt very close to you. Our trip to Spain was one of my most memorable trips ever. Dear Haniyeh, you are absolutely a nice and kind-hearted girl. During my first days in Amsterdam, you and your lovely mother and sister welcomed me warmly and made me feel at home. I wish you and your family the best.
To my best friends in Iran: Maryam and Mahboubeh. I am very grateful that I had both of you to share my happiness and frustrations with, during my PhD life. Thank you for being there for me. I wish you the best in your academic and social life.
To my colleagues at University of Tehran: Alireza, Fatemeh, Sonia, Mohammadreza, and Hadi. Thank you for helping me in different ways during my PhD. We shared a lot of good as well as difficult times together. Sonia, I owe you a lot for doing my paper works at University of Tehran while I was in Amsterdam. I wish you all the best.
To my two best friends, Mahshid and Fereshteh. I love you both so much! I can never return the things you did for me while I was in the Netherlands. You were both like a sister to me. Fereshteh, I was so lucky to have you. We had so much fun together; from picnics and biking trips to parties and game nights. I will never forget our tea breaks and chats in ACTA, which always made me have more energy for work. We also shared unforgettable times in Iran while we were colleagues at Pasteur Institute and during our field trips to different places. You have a very special place in my heart and my life. Mahshid, not everyone is lucky enough to have a close friend from the very young ages to share their happiness and sadness, have crazy fun times, and remain best friends for years. I was. I am so grateful to have you in my life. Our friendship is beyond words...
