We then used a stepwise procedure to arrive at a parsimonious model by removing in each step the variable with the smallest Wald sta s c, un l further removal would lead to a signi cant loss in goodness-of- t (p<0.05; likelihood-ra o test). Then, the three markers were added to the resul ng mul variable model, and the stepwise procedure was repeated.
