support, one of you would help me without thinking twice. Thank you Erica, Jacqueline, Linda, Margôt, Maria, Martijn, Miranda, Monique, Nurcan, Rachel, Remco, Rika, Sabrina, Saeeda, Sam and Tanja.
My very dear colleagues from the research group, each of you brings me special memories of happy moments. So many celebration cakes, great barbecues, Efteling, bowling, wadlopen, congresses, dinners, snow adventures...the list is large and colorful! My biggest challenge from this chapter was to put the names in the right chronological sequence. The alphabetical order would be easier but I wanted to test my memory so here we go: Mart (mijn allerbeste nederlands leraar), Sulaiman, David, Berber, Tamara, Barbara, Gerrit-Jan, Marijke, Selma, Koen, Marc, Silvano, Paul, Viviana, Szofia, Lisette, Anne-Marie, Nora, Lara, Saheli, Rik, Marieke, Marlous, Ariane, Lieuwe, Patricia, Yennece, Petra, Rianne, Annemiek, Abilash, Yanaika, Marije Gerritsen, Hanneke, Pieter-Paul, Guus, Annika, Lizzy, Julia, Anirban, Susanne, Anne, Marije Lammers, Niloufar, Reim, Elise, Guo, Linsey, Rita, Renate, Zulfan, Olga, Job, Levi, Mahmoud, Emine, Chantal, Katrien, Marjolein, Luca, Ivo, Tess, Cristina, Erik and Naomi. Dear Pearl, thank you for guiding me through the universe of rigid rules, ethics and protocols...I had being learning a lot with your experience but more important I enjoyed our moments together (A je to!!).
Dear Anke-Hilse, it has been a while since our three hours “get-to-know-each- other chat” when we got stuck at London airport. In that evening I found our common appreciation for long conversations (what can be somehow dangerous to our agendas) and that I could learn a lot from your expertise. It has been a pleasure to be part of your growing team, count on me to keep our studies moving forward.
The experience as a researcher in the Netherlands has opened my eyes and helped me to develop a critical perspective of patient’s care. Nevertheless, it is no secret that my heart still belongs to the pediatric field. Therefore my happiness when I got the chance to perform children studies and to work again with colleagues from the pediatric department. Thank you Wim van Aalderen, Aline Sprikkelman, Niels Rutjes, Eric Haarman, Dina Seljogi, Berber Kapitein and Caroline Brackel. Dear Suzanne Terheggen-Lagro, thank you for your trust in my skills and the opportunity to be part of the group.
