remained a statistically signi cant predictor of IH. Age and length of incision also remained signi cant predictors but had clinically irrelevant ORs (OR 1.05 and OR 1.1). In the logistic regression analysis an emergency operation was found to be a risk factor for IH with an OR of 5.8 (p = 0.016). HMP proved not to be a signi cant risk factor after controlling for possible confounding variables.
