ADULT-ONSET ASTHMA – PREDICTORS OF CLINICAL COURSE AND SEVERITY
For nominal variables, the Chi-square test was used.
Di erences in baseline variables between the three groups (“deteriora on”, “no change”
and “improvement”) were compared using one-way analysis of variance (ANOVA) or Kruskal- Wallis test (for non-normally distributed data). Changes in the three groups over me were analyzed with a paired t-test. Mul nomial logis c regression (“no change” group was used as reference) and binary logis c regression (“no change” and “improvement” group together were used as reference) were performed. Because their results were similar, only binary logis c regression outcomes are reported. The signi cant predictor variables were used in a mul variate binary logis c regression model. Results are expressed as odds ra o (OR).
SPSS Sta s cs version 20 (SPSS Inc., IBM, Chicago, Ill) were used for all sta s cal analyses. Sta s cal signi cance was set at a p-value of <0.05.
