About the author
Olga Visser was born in 1982 in Zuidhorn, the Netherlands. In 2000 she completed her secondary education (VWO) at the Grotius College in Delft. After travelling for a year, she started her medical education in 2001 at the University of Utrecht. During this period, she spent time in New-Zealand (internship paediatrics), the Philippines (research internship on tuberculosis) and Cameroon (internship tropical diseases).

2011. At that time, Olga started combining her work in infectious disease control with a part-time PhD position at the Academic Collaborative Centre AMPHI, Radboud university medical center in Nijmegen. In 2017 Olga started training as a Public Health consultant within her work at the Regional Public Health service. Since 2018 she is also part-time senior researcher at the Academic Collaborative Centre AMPHI.
Olga is married to Jan Nederstigt. They enjoy living in Den Dolder with their two children, Thijs (2011) and Fieke (2013).
