CHAPTER 4
Abstract
In this article, the authors present the results of their research at four cooperation schools in the Netherlands. These schools are characterized by a specific religious diversity of their student population. Based on theory about religious education and diversity, the authors describe their empirical research on how teachers deal with such religious diversity in rituals: moments of contemplation and celebra- tions. This study focuses specifically on the expression of school values of encoun- ter, equality of sources and the focus on students’ life experiences in these rituals. This study is part of broader research regarding religious diversity in cooperation schools.
