Page 195 - Never Too Far Away? The Roles of Social Network Sites in Sojourners’ Adjustment

And finally, last but definitely not the least: My Frank. You are the most beautiful, yet unexpected, blessing that I received during my PhD. Because of you, I stopped being a sojourner. You have become my home. We met just three months after I arrived here in the Netherlands. You have been very much a part of my PhD journey. I want to thank you for your understanding and love. I know sometimes it was not easy! (I think PhD students’ partners should have a support group.) We always joked about you being my boyfriend/husband, and my dissertation is my lover! Despite the attention and energy that my “lover” required, you never ran out of patience. My favorite lines whenever I was in the study, writing or running some analysis, were: “Call me when you need me, love” and “Do you want food/coffee?” Thank you, my love. I am grateful for your unceasing belief in me. I love you.
