Most important, however, is to investigate how ASAS-criteria fulfillment relates to clinical diagnosis. This analysis is visualized in the Venn-diagram in Figure-2: All patients with a clinical diagnosis of AS fulfilled the axSpA-criteria, and all patients with a clinical diagnosis of ReA fulfilled pSpA-criteria. The other subcategories of clinical diagnoses, however, were either captured by axSpA-criteria or by pSpA-criteria, and frequently, a clinical diagnosis of SpA could not be confirmed by axSpA or pSpA-criteria.
