Edwin van Adrichem was born on the 20th of May 1983 in

About the author
Delft, the Netherlands. He grew up in Noordbroek, in the
northern part of the Netherlands. He completed his secondary
school at OSG de Winkler Prins in Veendam (Groningen).
Following this he studied at the academy of physical education
for one year after which he started his study in Human
Movement Sciences from which he received his master degree
in 2005. Parallel to his master program he participated in a
six-month masterclass in adapted physical activity in Leuven,
Belgium. Subsequently, he participated in the accelerated
program of the bachelor education physical therapy at the
Hanze University of Applied Sciences where he received his
Bachelor degree in 2008. After his study, he started working as a physical therapist at the
University Medical Center Groningen. In 2013 he started his PhD research and training
program at the Hanze University of Applied Sciences (research group Healthy Ageing,
Allied Health Care, and Nursing). During his PhD, he worked as a lecturer at the bachelor
educational program in physical therapy as well. In 2014 he became board member of the
European Transplant Allied Healthcare Professionals, the care group of the European
Society of Organ Transplantation. Currently, he is employed at the department of
Rehabilitation Medicine of the University Medical Center Groningen.
