mechanics. However, after correction for these confounding factors, still a strong association between age and electromechanical properties of the LA was shown. In addition, we have not performed magnetic resonance imaging and or biochemical studies in this population to support our conclusions. Finally, LA strain measurements were performed with dedicated post-processing software, and the values obtained with this software may not be generalised to other vendors.
