In 2009 she obtained an RIVM Strategic Research Programme (SOR) funding for ‘Timeliness of response during Outbreaks’. This was the starting point for her research in timeliness of notification and response systems, which in 2016 successively developed into a PhD project hosted by GGD Rotterdam-Rijnmond and Erasmus MC.
