Preoperative physical activity and eating style
Preoperative Baecke and DEBQ scores were not related to TWLmax or WR at 36 and 48 months. Figure 1.a shows the weight loss trajectories for the four group of patients based on the quartiles of preoperative Baecke scores, ranging from the group with the lowest physical activity (1st quartile) to the group with the highest physical activity (4th quartile). Weight loss was not significantly different between these groups (p=0.238). Weight loss trajectories for the four groups based quartiles of preoperative DEBQ scores are shown in Figure 1.b-d. A lower quartile means a patient has less emotional, restrained or external eating. Weight loss was not significantly different between the four groups for emotional eating (p=0.699). There was also no significant difference for restrained eating (p=0.586) and for external eating (p=0.526).
