The main mediation model. We conducted invariance analyses using MPlus version 7 (Muthén & Muthén, 2012) and maximum likelihood estimation on the baseline model (Figure 2) starting with configural invariance. The model showed an adequate fit to the data (χ2 = 366.74; χ2/df = 1.76; CFI = 0.95; TLI = 0.92; RMSEA = 0.06; SRMR = 0.06), demonstrating configural invariance. The model also demonstrated metric and scalar invariance (see Table 2), allowing for the comparison between the two groups (Chen, 2008; Kühne, 2013).
